Description

Mystry Whisky #2

  • A selection of well-aged whisky – one bottle of each - Bells, Famous Grouse, Dewar White Label. Lost, forgotten and finally found in the back of a cellar by the owner, when moving house. The whisky had been mellowing quietly in a dark for at least 20 years, the labels are worn, but the bottles are perfectly sealed, and the contents are intact. The ‘mystry’ concerns how they got into the cellar, and why? The story goes that the whisky was in payment of a debt… but the details are missing… could the owner be a blackmailer? or was it a gambling debt? or payment for a “job done”? But the big question is; why did the owner never enjoy the odd snifter or two? Whatever the reason, this LOT of lusciousness should be opened and enjoyed! So here’s your chance.
  • All whisky is located in Grahamstown and, where possible, should be collected from there by the successful bidders.
  • Delivery of whisky will be for the cost of the bidder, and the means of delivery (ordinarily by courier) will be negotiated after the conclusion of the auction.
